FIFA 15 Ultimate Team is a unique football game that includes fast-paced matches as well as challenging team management tasks that are going to keep you on your toes.

FIFA has been around for well over 25 years, and it continues to be one of the most popular gaming franchises in the world. While some of the most recent FIFA titles have strategic team-building elements, they typically focus on the matches themselves. In FIFA 15 Ultimate Team, much of your time is going to be spent creating a cohesive team from the ground up. Even though you will be able to jump into some exciting matches, this game emphasizes all of the work that goes on behind the scenes to create a world-class football club.

There are many different game types to choose from in FIFA 15 Ultimate Team, but you will probably want to start with the tutorial if you aren’t very familiar with the FIFA franchise or football management sims in general. The tutorial will walk you through the basics of team chemistry as well as how the matches themselves work. Once you have mastered those basic controls, you can either join a cup, jump into a championship match, play online against others, or play in some of the most popular matches from history.

While the quick matches are fun, most of this game’s content can be found in the leagues, cups, and championships. In those game modes, you are going to build a team from the ground up as you make your way through the brackets. When you start a new game, you are typically given a mix of middling players who all have relatively generic stats. Just like many of the other FIFA games, Ultimate Team draws from a roster of just over 10,000 real players and dozens of real teams, but you can make your own custom characters and teams if you would like.

As you choose new players, you will need to keep a close eye on how well they get along with one another. Whenever you pull a new player onto the field, you will see a variety of bars around their name. If there is a red bar connecting two players, then they won’t get along out on the field, and that will result in a drop in their stats. The green bar is the strongest connection, and it is going to give you a major boost during your matches. FIFA has gone to great lengths to perfect the algorithms for player chemistry, and they have taken many different variables into consideration. That includes the player’s country of origin, their primary language, and which clubs they have played for in the past.

You will also need to keep a close eye on each contract for your players so that you don’t lose a star player in the middle of a match. The countdown for the contracts goes very quickly, and that means you will need to have a constant reserve of strong players with good chemistry ready to hop in the match. Keeping an eye on your players’ contracts is going to be very difficult at first, but it shouldn’t take long to master that aspect of the game. It also adds some additional depth to the game and makes it feel as if you are a genuine football manager.

In the matches themselves, the controls were designed for touchscreen devices. If you are playing this on a Windows laptop or tablet that has touchscreen capabilities, then it should be relatively easy to get used to the controls. Some avid fans of this game have been able to create patches for third-party controllers, but the base game doesn’t support any type of controller. To control your characters, you can either swipe the screen to carry out various movements or switch to digital buttons. You also have the option of switching to management mode where the AI controls both teams while you focus on substitutions.

Even though this game is slightly outdated and the controls aren’t completely polished, FIFA 15 Ultimate Team is still a world-class football simulator.
